AT Banter Episode 99 – Microsoft Soundscape

This week we’re thrilled to be talking with Jarnail Chudge and Amos Miller, two team members from Microsoft’s new Soundscape App for the visually impaired. They join us in the Guitar Dungeon to discuss the app’s origins, how it works, and the impact it has had on mobility experiences so far.

  1. I downloaded Soundscape. I wanted to set my own home as a destination so that if I was walking in the neighborhood, I would be told when I was back in front of my house. I could not find a way to Mark my own home as a destination. There was no way to type in my address. When I attempted to set a reference point, the app told me that no information was available. I can’t seem to get started with this app.

    1. It sounds like there might be a bit of a bug or glitch. Your best bet would be to reach out to the Soundscape guys and describe what’s happening and I’m sure they’ll be able to sort you out and help. You can reach them at soundscapefeed@microsoft.com. Best of luck with the app and let us know if you get it working. Thanks for listening!
